Hockey, coffee and sleepy eyes

Good morning all,

Yes I am starting off with hockey this morning.  I am enjoying my decaf coffee and trying to focus on the Gold medal 2014 Sochi Olympics Men's hockey game in the early hours of the morning.  Canada is playing against Sweden for this medal.  Even the bars are open and serving beer for breakfast - YUCK in my opinion.  Since hockey was invented in Canada, what should we expect by the die-hard hockey fans.  I suppose I decided to jump on the bandwagon and cheer on our team rather than sleeping in.  So early up to watch the game.

Did you know?  There are only 11 special made hockey pucks for this game?  Near the middle of the 2nd period I counted to 5 left.  The others have been pitched off the ice out into the crowds.  I found this interesting and wonder what would happen once they ran out of pucks.  Would this end the game?  Okay, I know that's not true.  But why only have 11 pucks for this game.  Once of this questions I will not get an answer to ease my curious mind.

With only 1:34 left of the 3rd period and Canada leading 3 - 0, my educated guess would be - Canada got another GOLD.  Great job guys!

So now what to do after the game?  Go back to bed?  Stay off the roads? (Bars are open remember) Its been a very good Olympics for our country.  The athletes have done so well.

This was the final event and now its time to say goodbye and enjoy the Closing Ceremonies.  Will you be watching? I thoroughly enjoyed the Sochi Olympics.  The hosts were A1 and everything about the games has been fantastic from start to finish. CBC coverage has keep me well informed and has been my only TV channel for the last two weeks.  We have the Paralympics next and looking forward to that part of the games.

Happy Canada gold medal day everyone.

Winter, I am breaking up with you!

Hi all, I hope you had a wonderful day.

The weather man is warning us of a rainfall warning and risks of flooding.  I do walk to work each day and now I am starting to wonder.. how to dress in the morning.  Rain boots?  Snow boots? Waders?  Should I wear my down feathered coat or a rain coat? This evening is bringing us some thunder and lightning while the grass is covered with thick snow and ice.  I do hope the worse of the snowy and cold weather is behind us for the winter season.

The ground hog predicted 3 weeks back to expect 6 weeks of winter.  Since we are now half way through the ground hogs timeline, I am truly looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.  However, I have decided enough is enough and I am breaking it off with Winter.  The unfortunate part of moving from Winter to Spring is RAIN!  Okay, I am done complaining about the weather.

The great part of winter in Canada, our citizens love Winter Sports.  Our Canadian Citizens are competing at this moment over at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi Russia and they have been doing so well. Congratulations to those who have been blessed with their talents to earn their medals.  For those who did not receive medals you should be so proud for trying your very best.

I have had the opportunity to watch most of the sports through CBC highlights and the talents of all the people in the world is amazing.  These athletes have put in so much time and passion into what they love to do.  You can see it in their eyes.

Cheers to all the competitors!

Thanks for spending time with me on this rainy stormy evening.
